Highlights
Mintion Nozzle Camera (NZC) is specially designed with an auto-focus lens and two pieces of LEDs to observe the first layer printing for 3D printing. With this small tool, it will be helpful to understand how the filament is flowing, as well as the layer adhesion and extrusion diagnosis.
Note: Mintion Nozzle camera is not a standalone product, if your printer is a Marlin system, then you need a Raspberry PI to run on Octoprint to use; if your printer is a Klipper system, then you can plug & play to use. AI detection: 3 months for free.

Questions & Answers
FAQ
Why do we make a Mintion nozzle camera?
The Mintion Nozzle Camera (NZC) isn’t the first nozzle camera out there. We were inspired by other nozzle cameras out there such as the 3DO nozzle camera, but after trying it we found ways it could be improved such as incorporating lights, adding autofocus, etc… so we decided to create a nozzle camera of our own and easier to approach. Considering the first layer observation, we combined with Obico First Layer AI Detection for different smart monitoring on 3D printing.
What printer should I use for this nozzle camera?
Mintion Nozzle camera is not a standalone product, if your printer is a Marlin system, then you need a Raspberry PI to run on Octoprint to use; if your printer is a Klipper system, then you can plug & play to use.
How shall I install the camera on my printer?
This camera is integrated with LEDs near the sensor and plug-and-play. We have designed some holders for this camera, such as Voron Stealthburner extruder, Prusa i3 MK3S+ extruder, etc.
You can print the holder and screw the holder onto the hotend, and connect the USB to the Raspberry Pi board (Marlin) or Mainboard USB socket (Klipper), then the nozzle angle video feed will be shown.
Why it's only in 1080P resolution, not in 4K resolution?
For video streaming, the 1080P@30fps is enough, because the nozzle camera view science is narrow and small, there's no big difference between 1080P and 4K resolution;
Secondly, the Raspberry Pi chipset is built with limited resources for handling MJPEG video streaming, higher resolution means more exhaustion for chipset resources. 1080P resolution is almost the maximum it can handle with.
Finally, for First Layer AI Detection by Obico, 1080P image is enough to deal with; 4K resolution image may be affected by network bandwidth.
How can I get the notification when it is detected?
You can install the Obico app to obtain the message push or the email for notification.
How long do we have the Obico AI first-layer detection subscription?
In default, each Mintion Nozzle Camera will have THREE THREE-month subscriptions of Obico First Layer AI Detection service for FREE. You will get the code from us to subscribe on Obico.
